Synopsis

A key to a room that never existed. A disappearance that was never solved. And a truth someone buried for years.

When investigative journalist Mara Ellis receives an old hotel key marked 417, she expects to find a simple explanation.

Instead, the key leads her to the Bellweather Hotel—where everyone insists that Room 417 never existed.

But the evidence says otherwise.

Old reservations reference the room. Architectural plans reveal its existence. Photographs contain clues that no longer match the hotel. And buried beneath decades of altered records is a connection to Claire Holloway, a woman who disappeared without a trace.

The deeper Mara digs, the stranger the evidence becomes.

A missing room.

A missing woman.

A hidden passage.

And people who seem willing to do almost anything to keep the past buried.

Mara soon realizes that Room 417 wasn't simply erased from the hotel's history.

It was erased for a reason.

But uncovering the truth may be more dangerous than leaving it hidden.

Because some secrets protect the innocent.

Others protect the guilty.

And sometimes, the person searching for the truth becomes part of the secret.

The Room That Wasn’t There is a gripping psychological suspense thriller filled with hidden evidence, vanished records, dangerous secrets, and a mystery that refuses to stay buried.
