About the Author

Megan Joy Chapman is a dancer, writer, and mixed media artist. Through creative expression, she aims to inspire the next generation to discover their unique identity in Christ, encounter His presence, and serve Him with passion. Megan lives on the Big Island of Hawaii where she and her husband Keith make their home.

Megan's extensive background in dance and fashion design inspire her theatrical characters and colorful writing style. Megan began writing Lion Heart & Alessio as a gift for her family. But after her nephew--one of the heroes of this book- died unexpectedly, she realized that this story was not just for them, but for everyone who has suffered. Megan uses her passion for Jesus to encourage people to stand firm on God's promises--no matter what the circumstances. Her greatest desire is to show the world that they are loved, unique, precious to God, and have eternal worth and purpose.

Mission: Gentleness & Self-Control shows us how to give God glory no matter what happens in our lives. Megan Chapman demonstrates the greatest example of this through her work. Through this two-part book, one can see the heart of the Father reaching out to His children, wanting them to know they are seen and loved. I can really identify with the hurt, pain, and unforgiveness that Grandma Anna battles with, before finding healing on the other side.

Also very relatable is the struggle of a young boy who works through the pain of a tragedy and breaks free from his crippling fears, in order to influence the world around him. This Lion Heart & Alessio book has touched my life, and I believe that all other readers will find it to do the same for them.

The Lion Heart and Alessio series is one of my favorites, and this final installment, Mission: Gentleness & Self-Control, definitely served it justice. This book not only captured my attention but also talked about touchy subjects in Christianity with grace. Megan Chapman did an amazing job showing how God provides and how fun a relationship with Him can be. She also showed that God can take something tragic and make it into something beautiful.

This series did wonders for me, furthering my relationship with God. The well-placed verses, always on topic throughout, made me want to read the Bible. As a teen living in New England, the least Jesus-focused region in the United States, I'm inspired by the storyline that Megan Joy Chapman has created to reach more people for Christ.
