We’re pleased to announce the release of the 2nd Edition of our book, How to Avoid Environmental Litigation.
This updated edition offers clear, practical guidance to help you understand and manage environmental legal requirements. Written with my co-author, Murray Sinclair, an environmental attorney, we draw on our technical and professional experience to create a clear, practical guide to help you identify environmental issues and then respond effectively.
Navigating today’s complex and changing regulations can be challenging — this book is here to make it easier. It includes the latest updates on environmental laws, along with key case law references.
The new edition also adds chapters on indoor air quality, vapor intrusion, mold exposure, advances in cleanup technologies, and legal defenses against liability. These new sections provide practical strategies under both federal and state laws to help you avoid costly mistakes.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Murray Sinclair was the author of a prizewinning series of mystery novels (Tough Luck L.A., Only in L.A., and Goodbye L.A.). These hard-boiled fictional
adventures, however, pale in comparison with the bizarre and fascinating cases he has handled as an environmental lawyer over the last 30 years. Mr. Sinclair represents an array of corporate and individual clients in the environmental arena. After graduating with honors in English from the University of California at Santa Barbara and obtaining his M.F.A. in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California, Mr. Sinclair attended Southwestern University School of Law. He has been an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, serving as Associate Editor of the Environmental Law Section Newsletter in 1993-1994 and as Editor-In-Chief in 1994-1995. Mr. Sinclair was the Chairman of the Environmental Litigation & Insurance Committee of the L.A. County Bar Association Environmental Law Section in 1995-1996 and 2000-2001. He has written and lectured on environmental litigation and environmental coverage issues for both private and public organizations.
Mr. Sinclair is the founder of Murray M. Sinclair & Associates, Attorneys at Law, in
Los Angeles, California.
