Synopsis

Convicted of murder at the age of 13, nearly killing another guy at 19, and attacking prison guards at 26, Savage Recovery is an honest portrayal of one man’s journey to healing the emotional trauma of his childhood.

Savage Recovery is about taking the power back from everything that drains you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, and giving the power back to God. It’s about understanding that it’s okay to not be okay but also understanding that you can’t stay there for long. There’s more to you than past decisions. I’m not where I want to be, but I’m definitely not where I used to be.

Written with the wisdom of hindsight vision, Savage Recovery is funny. Insightful. Inspiring. Devious. Criminal. Redemptive. From Hawaii to the streets of Tacoma, Washington. From Federal Prison to the fulfillment and spiritual healing found in a 12-step program, Mani P. weaves together his real-life experiences and the characters that were pivotal in turning a hardened, violent criminal into a productive, sober member of society.
