Their first field trip will be to a playground by the Rio Grande where Weeping Woman's ghost (La Llorona) resides. Little Arlien discovers an old black and white photo of her Great-great -grandmother in Sharps unpacked moving boxes. "Where is she?" The woman was taken by force to the sanitorium in the Organ Mountains at Dripping Springs during the TB epidemic. She died there. The children insist they must find her grave and take her flowers. It is a dangerous hike for little children and an aging grandfather. During a ranger guided tour of the Springs, inquisitive granddaughter Dakota finds the bodies of two murdered hikers in a cave. Hurrying back to report their discovery, a rattlesnake blocks the center of the trail ready to bite the girls. Grandpa Sharp shoots the rattler but pays with jail time for killing an animal on BLM property. Arlien brings back a shiny rock for her collection. It's gold. A woman in the tour group saw the rock and ran back to the cave, never to be seen again. Who killed the hikers? Perhaps with one last adventure Sharp will know. It's all about gold. A story of Historical Fiction set in the real Dripping Springs of the Organ Mountains near Las Cruces, NM. Stories of gold have circulated for years and this will be another look for gold and murderers. A clean very presentable copy. Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # 017640
