Jerry Benham is an entomologist living in Colorado with bunches of forests, mountains, wildlife, and wildfires. Human Metamorphosis: The Making of a Man chronicles his long, fascinating career path and the many opportunities that came his way in his life-as a Hawaii field forest entomologist, a researcher in space for NASA, a member of the City of Amherst Police Force, a personal bodyguard for Randolph Hearst, and a department associate at U.C. Berkeley. In 1976, Scientific Instruments offered him an Olympus sales position, leading to a rewarding new career. Jerry's passion has been teaching scientists, post docs, cell biologists, and neuroscientists about laser scanning confocal imaging systems internationally. He has even worked with Nobel laureates. Jerry managed a unique digital imaging group specializing in laser scanning confocal microscopy for medical research at the molecular and cellular level. He has presented numerous seminars at major universities and institutions throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia, and has been published in numerous scientific books and journals.
