Over the last six decades, we have deepened our understanding of the nature of the Cosmos and how it works. A few Astrophysicists have begun to think that the "Big Bang Theory" is a myth at best and that our Milky Way Galaxy exists inside a giant "Black Hole". Our understanding of the Cosmos is changing every day. It is fair to say that just like the Cosmos, our knowledge of the universe is continually expanding and deepening. Astronomy is alive with excitement and wonder and great beauty. Nevertheless, since it is also very dangerous to human life, we must execute our plan for attaining a Type I Civilization with great caution and "eyes wide open". Even today, Astronomers have not identified consistent signals from any supercivilization from anywhere in the universe. Nevertheless, we do know that solar systems exist that are much older than our own. Quasars could be a hint. We do well to remember the historical work of astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev from 1964 and his model of civilization types based on energy.
