Synopsis

When reality glitches, terror refracts.
In this Sci-Fi Horror sequel to The Quiet Cul-de-sac, the cosmic dread of the Spiral evolves into a techno-surrealist nightmare. Trapped in the dystopian city of Virellum, survivors must navigate a mind-bending landscape where psychological thriller meets metaphysical mystery. Perfect for fans of atmospheric dark fantasy and experimental fiction, The Spiral Refracted drags you into a paranormal world where memory is a weapon and the only way out is through the madness.

The quiet cul-de-sac is gone, replaced by the shimmering, fractured halls of the Prism Archive in the city of Virellum.

Lira traces echoes that don't belong. Wilma's hum shields a silence that refuses to break. Jonah anchors himself against a reality that rewrites itself with every breath. And Watcher... Watcher sees the code beneath it all, the phantom limbs of a world that shouldn't be.

Virellum is a city built on broken memories and recycled fears, a place where the Spiral's influence has become a digital plague. The lines between the real and the simulated blur, and the past is a weapon wielded by unseen forces.

As they delve deeper into the city's impossible architecture, they uncover a conspiracy that stretches beyond their fractured reality, into the very fabric of perception. To survive, they must not only confront the horrors of Virellum but also the fragmented pieces of themselves they left behind.

But in a place where even thoughts can be corrupted, who can they trust? And what is the price of remembering in a world designed to make you forget?

From the Inside Flap

From Chapter 1: The Prism

The city of Virellum gleamed beneath a sky fractured by light. Towers of glass bent the sun into kaleidoscopic beams, casting shifting patterns across the streets. At its heart, the Prism Archive vibrated faintly, a structure built not to store memory--but to refract it.
Inside, a figure moved through the corridors, ink-stained fingers trailing along walls etched with glyphs. Her name was Lira, and she had never seen a spiral. Not truly. But she had felt its echo in the prism's hum, in the way reflections lingered too long.
She paused before a glyph that shimmered in three colors. Lira whispered, "It's listening." The prism responded, casting a beam across the floor. A new glyph formed--triangular, jagged, refracted.
The beam bent sharply--casting a pattern across the wall that resembled a cul-de-sac. Lira stepped closer. The pattern shimmered, revealing a memory not her own: a quiet street, roses blooming unnaturally, a man named Ralph standing on a porch.
Lira gasped. "This isn't Virellum." The prism pulsed. The glyph shifted--spiral, thread, prism. She whispered, "It's refracting memory."
