Synopsis

The Praying Garden is a story about the majesty of prayer.

Eden is a young boy who retreats from time to time to his quiet space in the garden at the church near his home. In The Praying Garden – among the beautiful surroundings, colorful blooming flowers, bursting sunshine, dancing windchimes, flowing water fountains, butterflies and hummingbirds, statues and ornaments, and sounds of nature – Eden seeks peace with his thoughts. One chilly spring morning, Eden and his dog, Spirit, wander off to the garden where they meet the caretaker, Emanuel, who already knows Eden by name and calls out to him with the calming familiarity of a best friend. Eden talks with Emanuel who teaches him to pray for all things, all the time. During a series of encounters in the garden as a child centering around key moments in his life, Eden receives gifts from Emanuel in the form of hope, mercy, grace, joy and peace. Emanuel teaches Eden to believe in God, trust Him and have faith in Him. Emanuel encourages Eden to talk with God throughout each day through prayer. Emanuel shares God’s promise to be with Eden always and for all eternity. And Emanuel gives Eden a purpose – to be a caretaker for others, teach them to pray and lead them to The Praying Garden to witness God’s majesty.

“Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 18:1-3
