Synopsis
The Secrets to the Healing Power is not written to condemn the sick, shame the suffering, or suggest that every illness is the result of personal failure. The Word of God does not permit such cruelty. Jesus healed with compassion, not accusation. He touched lepers, opened blind eyes, raised the dead, delivered the oppressed, and restored those whom others had forgotten. The prophet Isaiah declared, "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows... and with his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:4-5). Matthew tells us that Jesus fulfilled this by taking our infirmities and bearing our sicknesses. Peter looks back to the cross and declares, "by whose stripes ye were healed" (1 Peter 2:24).
