Synopsis
Las Raíces en Verso / The Root Verse reúne dos idiomas, siete generaciones y casi dos siglos de memoria.
A partir de 1824, varios miles de afroamericanos libres participaron en un movimiento migratorio hacia La Española. Algunos se establecieron en la península de Samaná, donde construyeron familias, iglesias y comunidades, y donde el inglés continuó hablándose junto al español durante generaciones.
Inspirada en esa historia real, esta colección poética imagina voces a través del tiempo: personas que llegan, pertenecen, traducen, preservan, buscan, recuerdan y dejan preguntas para quienes vienen después. En esta edición bilingüe, cada poema aparece primero en español y luego en inglés, permitiendo escuchar a los mismos personajes y momentos a través de dos lenguas.
