Can obedience motivate us to find true joy in our lives?
One of the purposes of this book is to inspire a change in one's way of thinking as it relates to our ability to obey.
Even the word obedience has the oportunity to create a wide mixture of emotions-which may include suffering-as our Lord experienced on the cross. However, our obedience is a part of what leads us to our purpose ... just as it did Christ ... which ultimatelly motivates us on the journey to our eternal destiny.
Don't let the concept of obeying discourage you from fulfilling God's eternal plan for your life.
HE LOVES YOU!
In the beginning, God created us with a purpose: to dwell with Him for eternity; but there was a conflict due to the disobedience committed in Eden.
Jesus came to restore that purpose, resolving the conflict. And now, God has chosen us to be a part of the destiny He desires for His children.
Our decisions in this life relate to God's ultimate purpose, and each of us will receive our reward accordingly. these decisions will determine our outcome in the eternal dwelling.
And Christ is the door to that dwelling.
This book deals with a topic that is not very easy to understand or accept; but when we hear it, it provokes curiosity and challenges our souls. The word "obedience" tends to challenge our comfort level by changing the thoughts and lifestyle of those who decide to follow it. It can even produce internal pain, a feeling of obligation to perform certain actions we truly don't want to perform, and a call to stop doing something we truly don't want to stop doing.
This reaction is very natural in our humanity; but when we receive a true revelation through the Holy Spirit as a result of our obedience, a genuine desire to obey God is produced within us. The Word of God shows us that Jesus suffered when He became our sacrifice on the cross, but He was able to be obedient to the will of His Father (God) because of the joy that was set before Him when He saw the results of His obedience that mankind would receive-an eternal loving relationship with us.
All of this is a process that leads us to God's original purpose: And that purpose begins in the first two chapters of Genesis, only to be cut short by sin soon afterwards, giving rise to the battle we all experience every day . . .
