Synopsis

When Alexander Fane inherits the title of Duke of Sandison after his father's untimely death, he is thrown into a world of duty and high expectations. As he takes charge of his new role and the responsibilities that come with it, he encounters Lady Rebecca Rutherford, a spirited and intelligent young woman who challenges the societal norms.

On the outside, Rebecca is funny, carefree and much too improper for Alexander's high expectations. However, Rebecca faces her own struggles. Her brother, the Earl of Fordew, plans to marry her off to Lord Phillips, a man she despises, to settle his gambling debts. But Rebecca is determined to forge her own path. With the support of her friends and the growing affection of Alexander, she fights against the constraints of her own family and the time she was born to.

...In that moment, he had wanted nothing more than to lift her dress, inch by inch, to reveal more of her legs, until his hands rested against the bare flesh of her thighs. Then Alexander would show her what happened to insolent young ladies...

Set against the backdrop of Regency Britain, Rebecca's story is a tale of love, expectation, friendship, and the journey to personal freedom.

A steamy Regency romance.
