Written from a personal autistic perspective, the book also reflects on obsession, pattern-seeking, serial-killer fascination, unresolved history and the responsibility that comes with studying real violence. The author’s own Ripper-inspired tattoo becomes part of that honesty — not as admiration for the killer, but as evidence of how deeply the case became fixed in the mind.
