This book is concerned with computation theory which is the basis for studying AI (Artificial Intelligence). The book is authored by collecting slides in the lecture on computation theory during one semester; each page is given as a slide. This book is intended for ones who study computation theory with their interests and is composed of eight lectures. We study finite automata, context free automata, and pushdown automata as main abstract computation models in this book. It provides basic knowledge of developing alternative kinds of AI techniques.
