These are accounts from the FDNY’s War Years by Captain Bob Farrell (Captain, Ladder 31, retired). Ladder 31, along with Engine Company 82, were among the busiest units in the city of New York from the late 1960s through the 1970s. Captain Bob Farrell is the real deal and among the many stalwarts of those "War Years." He is the recipient of numerous FDNY medals and awards, including the James Gordon Bennett Medal, the highest medal given out by the FDNY, until 2020. These accounts give insight into the history of the City of New York during that era.
