"It was so engaging that I read it in a day.”

“Another intelligent multifaceted plot and complex characters. The book was so engaging that I read it in a day. I usually know who is guilty in advance but not with this book.”

“Excellent!! I could not put this book down! The twists and turns kept me wondering ‘who done it’! The lack of promiscuity and colourful (useless) language was another bonus. This strong storyline didn’t need anything but Michael Swiger’s great writing!”

About the Author

"I had never even read a novel until I got to prison," said bestseller author Michael Swiger, "and now I write them."

Swiger discovered his love of reading and gift for writing after being sentenced to 21-50 years after refusing to testify at his older brother's murder trial. The Ohio Supreme Court later overturned his conviction, but not before Swiger served 17 years.

While incarcerated Swiger earned two Associates Degrees with a 4.0 GPA, went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, before receiving a full scholarship to study theology at the Reformed Theological Seminary.  "I looked at the one commodity that I had in abundance -time," Swiger said, "and I wanted to use every minute to better myself."

Swiger became the first Ohio prisoners since William Sydney Porter - better known as O Henry - to become a published author while incarcerated. During his incarceration, Swiger authored five books, placed 2ndin the St. Martin's Press national mystery writing contest, and shared a literary agency with Alan Dershowitz.  Swiger's spiritual journey during his incarceration is chronicled in a book published by Our Daily Bread entitled God Has a Plan. Free copies are available at: God Has a Plan |Discovery Series.

Swiger serves as Executive Director of True Freedom, Ohio's largest prison ministry with ten paid staff and over 150 volunteers, actively engaged in prison ministry, addiction recovery, and homeless outreach, all across the Ohio. In 2019 True Freedom touched nearly65,000 lives, averaging over 200 classes, programs, or services every month inside the prison system. True Freedom also provided nearly 17,000 hot meals to the homeless on the streets of Cleveland and provided Addiction Recovery programming to over 3,000 individuals in Northeast Ohio. Swiger makes his home outside of Cleveland, with his beautiful wife Susan, and two children.
