About the Author

Dan Harper was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in the nearby suburb of Naperville. After graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2012, Dan set his sights on the seemingly impossible goal of qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Marathon Team Trials. Dan's long personal journey toward this dream, and his eventual success, inspired him to share his story with other dedicated, highly ambitious runners from around the country. Currently, Dan is a fourth-year student at Rush Medical College and, despite a completely new set of priorities, he continues to set aside some time each day for running.
