About the Author

Lee Patterson retired after working for over 40 years at various administrative positions, but wasn't ready to settle down, and let her imagination take her to her first brief novel entitled, At the Scene of the Crime. Lee also wrote Emeralds in the Rough, and just completed the latest novel entitled Murder in the School Yard.

The series surrounds Jennifer Cahill, who continued in her father and grandfather's footsteps by becoming a police officer with the Chicago Police department. Follow Jennifer as she is involved in all sorts of stressful situations while she gains experience beginning as a clerk at the district 3 precinct, to a probationary officer out of the police academy, to a rookie police officer.


Lee is married with three children and 10 grandchildren. Lee spends her time between Kingston, Ontario Canada and Wesley Chapel, Florida.
