About the Author

Joseph M. Casciani,PhD, is the founder and Chief Curator of the Living to 100 Club, the author's new voice for delivering insights and inspiration about aging with a positive mindset - no matter how hard the journey. The desire to share these insights and this outlook on aging does not come from seminars or a few years in the field. They are the culmination of the author's experience with older adults and their families, the paid and unpaid caregivers, writing and public speaking, and the hundreds of mental health professionals and scores of hospitals and long-term care facilities with whom he has worked with since the early1980s. 

He has an almost 40-year career in the field of clinical geropsychology. He attended San Diego State University for his master's degree and U.S. International University (nowAlliant) for his doctorate. He was awarded the first contract from the California Department of Aging in 1982 to develop training manuals and curricula for the state's long-term care facilities on aging and mental health topics. Subsequently, he became the co-founder and president of a multi-state mental health group, providing services in LTC settings. For16 years he was responsible for program development and the delivery of clinical services to patients in over 800 nursing facilities, in eight states, developing clinical programs and protocols for mental health services in long-term care settings, and sponsoring online training programs and webinars in the field of aging forhealth care professionals.
He began his own group practices, Concept Healthcare and CoHealth Psychology Services, in 2007 to provide training for those working with older adults. After 12 years, he transferred ownership of his professional corporations to a new company in 2019. He is now semi-retired with a hand in supporting the new owner and keeping a strategic focus on the Living to 100 Club while writing, public speaking, and consulting.
