A story which gets you thinking and radiates hope andassurance." –-NWZ-"You have to rediscover the childhood anarchy within you to be able to ride on the stars.”It’s not a matter of having your own childlike chaos but of rediscovering it and again making it your own. On the other hand you are reminded of the much-quoted line from Antoine de Saint Exupéry’s The little prince: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” This view from within is further developed by Jando in Star riders, resulting in a veritable and poetic nurturing of the heart. After his first novel Wind dreams, with Star riders the author has produced another wonderful, poetic book which I can fully recommend. But not just that: you should recommend a good book, urge your friends to read a very good book – and give the especially important books to your best friends.-Eselsohren: The book magazin-A wonderfully poetic story, a modern fairytale which puts readers very much in mind of The little prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry, causing them to pause for thought and question themselves, their dreams and their desires. A book for reading and philosophising over, for contemplation, wonder and amazement. Highly recommended.-Sensa Magazin-About the Bestseller-Author: The pseudonym JANDO stands for a real Northern German: Jens Koch (born 1970) He spins yarns on his extended walking tours along the seaside and on his favourite islands as well as aroundthe Bad Zwischenahn Lake.

From the Inside Flap

Being completely under theimpression of this mysterious events I made my way to the hospital. Then iheard it.
" Hello, hello, please waitfor me. I want to come with you".
I turned round anddiscovered him.
A little boy, dressed with adark cape and a jute bag in his hand, was standing aside Sunflower and Rose. His hair were soaking wet. Wetness was dropping down from his body.
His face was ashen-pale,what made his eyes stick out. He stoodthere totally lost.
It was the first time I sawthe boy. I moved towards him: "Oh my Kid, where are you coming from?
You`re wet all over! Justcome in with me. We`ll warm you up. You must get rid of your wet clothes. Mean while I´m making a hot chocolate foryou".
The boy smiled. Then helooked at the flowers.
"Alas", he meanttotally confused, "my friends are already there! How big they are. That surelyhas done the rain. Now they`ve already got enough drinking for today, so itwill be enough till tomorrow. I really like to come with you. You are such anice, big woman and that pretty. I like your long blond hair. I once had a girlfriend who let her made bunches. I can do that for you, too. I didn`t think this would bepossible. I´ve watched you earlierwhen you were looking at my friends. It´s the same with flowersand human beings. When they open themselves we can recognize their true beauty. We only have to give them some food. So they can completely develop theirbeauty.
"Do you have somebody to nourishyou? This man must be a rich man. Youdon`t have to answer now", he said carefully. I´m also thinking a lot beforespeaking. Do I get my hot chocolate now? I´m slowly getting cold."
Hetook my hand quite naturally and led me directly through the entrance into ourtea kitchen.
While I was warming up themilk for the hot chocolate, he said: " I yet go into the room in the middle ofthe floor. It has got a wonderful view to the sea. Do you have any dry clotheswhich I can put on there?"
"You can`t just go into thatroom. We aren`t a hotel but a hospital", I replied.
"Oh, then I´m exactlyright here. I´m only going to stay here for six months. Perhaps a friend ofmine will give me a round bed? I don`tsleep very well in ordinary beds. They do restrict me at night. That`s becauseI´m dreaming a lot and that`s what I need some place for."
" Just listen!" The boy started to ache my nerves. So far I hadn`t got an answer that wasacceptable for me. To our hospital thereare coming people are rather unwell. They are very sick. Just imagine, we don`tdry you. Then it might happen that you have to cough and you get a runningnose. You really know that, don´t you? And the coming to our hospital arefeeling much, much worse.
Some of them can`t runproperly any more, they`ve got bad cough or they looses weight without wantingit. There are also people who never again can leave it and we help them to feelgood nevertheless. Do you understand now?"
The boy sat down. He seemedto be in low spirits and sad. I didn`t know however, how I could have explainedit to him in a better way. He put his head in his hands and bent his body. Ifelt sorry for him. I went to him and put my arms around him.
