Synopsis

A Navy dolphin researcher, who discovered a way to communicate with the dolphins he worked with, refuses to divulge this information to his superiors, leading to a courts-martial and dishonorable discharge. Through a series of events, he joins with an environmental organization to utilize this discovery in efforts to end the killing of dolphins in tuna nets. Unbeknownst to him and his team, his discovery poses a serious threat to a worldwide way of thinking, and an effort is organized to kill the project and anything that gets in its way.

About the Author

Stan Minasian is a 3-time Emmy Award-winning documentary film producer and marine educator. For over forty years he has researched, studied, written about, and produced documentary films on animal issues, especially marine mammals. His films and books reflect an attempt to reveal the special qualities of all animals, while at the same time learning more about them himself. He is the senior author of The World's Whales, a Smithsonian Books publication, One Dolphin's Story, and My Quiet Battle, all of which can be found on Amazon and Kindle, and he is the producer of numerous nationally and internationally broadcast documentary films on animal issues. His documentary, Where Have All the Dolphins Gone?, hosted by the late George C. Scott, and broadcast primetime on Discovery Channel, was instrumental in ending the killing of dolphins in U.S. tuna nets and helped to bring about the Dolphin Safe label on all tuna sold in the United States.
