Synopsis

The best poetry is a balm to the soul. The Bones of the Poor is a timeless reminder that there is magic in the ordinary life we all share.

Readers of Oskolkoff’s third collection of poems have been enchanted: “Honestly, this brought tears,” “So beautiful, so touching,” and “Exquisite” are a few samples of the unsolicited praise. Expertly crafted and enjoyable at the same time, there is something for everyone. Inspired by England, the book contains brief lyric poems celebrating nature, historic stories, experiences of the sacred, the bliss of love, and the poignancy of our shared mortality. The book includes 45 original works, and a preface by the author.

Most importantly, the collection has a light sprinkling of both philosophy and kindness. In these difficult times, having this book will be, in-a-sense, like having a friend close by. Honest, but hopeful and of good cheer. This book is medicine for the malaise and alienation of the modern world. The Bones of the Poor offers moving compositions about the life we all share, and the depth of our common humanity. You, and those you love, deserve to have this charming gift of verse.
