Synopsis
Twenty-two legends follow an ancient scroll through two millennia of history. Combining to form an epic saga, the legends—each a short story—feature fictional and historical people against a background of actual places and events. The journey takes us from the Middle East to medieval Europe, from exotic Persia to the American Midwest. We meet people struggling to live and those who want them dead. We take an unflinching look at the horrors wrought on Jews in various times and places. The scroll, meantime, is bought and sold, stolen and recovered, lost and found. Somehow it survives. This historical novel will leave the reader wondering “What if…?”
