About the Author

Born into a large family, in a small house, at home in County Durham in 1961, Ben Teeley entered the workforce in 1977, and then spent the next forty years working towards a better life instead of writing about it.  
 
Ben had a number of jobs including working as a retailer, an insurance man, a car salesman, a water salesman and a banker. Following his first marriage in 1981, he lived and worked in many towns and cities across the north of England, before divorcing and later marrying for a second time and moving to America. 
 
Ben's first book Work Nights Out and Other Short Stories was published 2020, followed closely by his second book, Ben in the USA. Both books chart the humorous progress of Ben's life as he navigates the pitfalls and profits of working and living on both sides of the Atlantic. Ben's School Days, which was published at the end of 2021 serves as a prequel to the first two books and is warmly regarded as every bit as funny.
