Our Story So Far
In 1978, Brian completed his final session with Dr. Gordon and Lisa while serving as a patient at Hamilton Psychiatric Ward. Throughout his stay at the Ward, he consistently claimed he visited a crematory with his friends Billy, Vince, and Frank. It bothered him that he couldn't recall what happened once they reached the bottom of the crematory and, more importantly, how he ended up being a patient at Hamilton Psychiatric Ward. Were Billy, Vince, and Frank dead? Why were they transferring him to a new location? He had many questions, but they would have to wait because Lisa was not the person she claimed. She was a vessel carrying the demon Edgar, and Brian's situation would grow much darker.
Instead of being transferred to a new psychiatric ward, Brian was held prisoner at Edgar's lair, which he soon discovered was Hell, and the location where his friends had met their death. From there, with Elijah's help, Edgar converted Brian into a harvester and changed his name to Draven. Edgar forced Draven to serve him by collecting souls to help build the ranks of a demon army known as the drake.
From the beginning, Elijah never trusted Draven and was jealous of the attention he received from his master, Edgar.
After several years had passed, his suspicions were validated when archangel Jeremiel and the angel Meredith confronted Draven while he tried to harvest a soul at a hospital. Jeremiel and Meredith agreed to help Draven and removed the marking he received from a demon that chased him and Billy outside of Frank's car at the crematory.
Jeremiel and Meredith ordered him to connect with a group of humans to help them with their cause, and Draven decided to start with Skyler by interacting with him during his dreams. They immediately had a strong connection. Eventually, Draven developed a relationship with Skyler, Alex, and Rachel. The three of them belonged to a group called the Scientific Paranormal Researchers, but they were not the only members of the group. Under the guidance Draven received about their mission, he forced them to lie to other members. Thus, Larry, Ben, and Kevin were forced out of the group and would not be a part of what they had discovered.
Skyler, Alex, and Rachel were concerned Draven was not honest about his past and had difficulty understanding that the world was darker than their paranormal investigating experiences suggested. Draven helped answer those questions by pointing out the demons monitoring them. To help prove his identity, he asked them to visit his mother and ask specific questions about him, but her responses only raised more questions. His mother knew nothing about Hamilton Psychiatric Ward and insisted her son had been missing for almost thirty years.
Draven didn't believe her and convinced the group to visit Hamilton Psychiatric Ward. When they arrived, they discovered an abandoned building, and the dates annotated on miscellaneous documents didn't support the timeframe Draven referenced. With one last effort to prove he was right about the Ward, they decided to visit Dr. Gordon's office but encountered Elijah, who had been strategically waiting for them. He confirmed their doubts about Hamilton Psychiatric Ward and told Draven it was all an illusion to control him.
This knowledge confused him, but Meredith intervened and temporarily banished Elijah before Draven could confront him. She ordered them to evacuate the building before reinforcements arrived. This confrontation angered Edgar, and he ordered Elijah to assemble their army.
