About the Author

Jim Walters, a seasoned professional in the electric power industry, spent decades as a lineman, manager, and director. Frustrated with traditional safety training, he pursued an EdD from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in 2006 and founded Power of Learning, Inc. His workshops focus on enhancing safety through adult learning techniques. Jim's 2014 research explored improving attentiveness with cognitive training, and his findings were published in the Journal of the American Society of Safety Engineers. His 2016 article, Safety Training: The Case for a More Logical Practice, became one of the top ten most downloaded worldwide.
