About the Author

Deric Shannon is a professor of sociology at Emory University's Oxford College, where he teaches courses in introductory sociology, deviant behavior, class/status/power, sociology of food, sociology of sustainability, and global political economy and sustainability. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut and an M.A. and B.A. from Ball State University.
