Synopsis
Written for students who have had little to no experience in computer programming, A Comprehensive Introduction to Python: From the Basics to Data Analytics covers not only the syntax and structure of the Python programming language but fundamental computer programming concepts that are the same across all programming languages. The book's chapters focus on individual topics and are progressive in nature, continuously building on the topics covered in previous chapters. The first two-thirds of the book covers the basic data structures and constructs in Python, and the final third focuses on using Python for plotting, data analytics, and creating data dashboards. Each chapter explains the many concepts covered in that chapter and provides students with a programming example to demonstrate the implementation of each concept in Python. Chapter summaries, keywords, and problems reinforce the material and allow students the opportunity to practice what they've learned.
The revised first edition features updates to code and clarified language in select chapters. In Chapter 15, there is fresh information on Streamlit reflecting updates in that module.

About the Author
Jacqueline Masloff, Ph.D. is a senior lecturer of computer information systems at Bentley University, where she teaches programming with Python, databases and SQL, and web programming using HTML and JavaScript. She holds a Ph.D. in educational studies from Lesley University, an M.Ed. from Framingham State University, and an M.S. from Boston University.
