Synopsis
The true Story of a brave, young, Italian girl who survives poverty, orphan hood, and World War 1, while living under the same roof with enemy soldiers in occupied Italy in the year 1918.
Written by hand, in Lucia's own words in 1936, she submitted her story to a New York magazine publication, TRUE STORY, that rejected it. Years later, she gifted the manuscript to her granddaughter, who, until then, had known her only as Grandma.
With the hope of honoring her grandmother's desire to tell her story, Renee Riva set off on a wing and a prayer to bring her grandmother's story to life and share it with others.
