In the aftermath of a battle between Comanches and U. S. soldiers, Liz and Laura take advantage of the confusion and darkness to escape from Comanche captivity and slip into the camp of U.S soldiers. Liz and Laura, having lost their family in the raid that led to their capture, wish to go to the family of an uncle in Washington Territory. The cavalry commander, Major James Stanford, promises to see that they get there.
The book is suitable for readers of all ages, but it is not a children's book. The 1-18 age bracket listed should be 1-18+ - it is a new category that I misunderstood in describing the book and can't change after the fact. If you've read any of my previous books, this one is written for the same audience. I hope you enjoy the story!
