Synopsis

Join cousins Kamali and Josiah as they reach for the sky and stand tall, just like the trees in their neighborhood.

People are like trees―strong, flexible, and rooted. Trees Stand Tall follows two young children as they observe and mimic the trees with their cousins... and discover how nature’s rhythms reflect the special bond of family.

  • Celebrates Diversity: While highlighting children in diverse, urban environments, this motivational kids book encourages readers that just like trees, they too are strong and rooted in their families.
  • Sprouts Connections to Nature: Simple text and vivid illustrations are used throughout the toddler book to show children how they can connect with nature in easy-to-understand way.
  • Includes Helpful Tips for Parents & Caregivers: This children's book features additional guidance and engaging toddler activities to help children learn more about the trees in their own neighborhoods.

This book is part of the Outside Our Window Board Book series, which encourages children―especially those in urban neighborhoods―to explore, protect, and delight in nature. Each book in the series focuses on one feature of the natural world (like trees), one sense (sight), and one social or emotional learning skill (family connection). The books emphasize community and encourage children and families to explore the natural world around them.
