What if America's Founders could return to the Republic they created-and see what became of it?
1789 - 2020 - 2040. Three moments in America's story. One continuing experiment in self-government.
In The Founders' Warning, author and political economist Werner Neff brings America's Founders into an imaginative journey across time.
1789: The new Republic takes shape. The Founders debate freedom, representation, the Constitution, the separation of powers, checks and balances, and the responsibilities of citizens and leaders. They disagree on important questions, but share an extraordinary challenge: how can a free people govern themselves while preventing the concentration and abuse of power?
2020: More than two centuries later, the Founders encounter the country their experiment produced. Through fictional dialogue, they examine a deeply divided political landscape, declining public trust, contested elections, inequality, and the strengths and weaknesses of the institutions they helped create. Their conversations continue through the events surrounding January 6, 2021, raising a fundamental question: How resilient is a constitutional republic when its democratic traditions are tested?
2040: The journey moves into an imagined future. Looking back on the preceding twenty years, the Founders consider what America might learn, what might change, and what principles could continue to guide the Republic.
Blending history, political thought, and fictional dialogue, The Founders' Warning does not ask readers to agree with a political party or ideology. It invites them to think alongside the Founders.
What did they get right? What did they fail to foresee? And what responsibility does each generation carry for preserving a free republic?
The Founders created the framework. The future belongs to those who inherit it.
A conversation across centuries. A warning for today. A vision for tomorrow.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - What If America's Founding Fathers Could See Us Today Would George Washington, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, and Alexander Hamilton recognize the Republic they helped create Or would they warn us that the principles sustaining American democracy are being tested as never before The United States was conceived as a bold experiment in self-government. Drawing on the lessons of history and political philosophy, the Founders crafted a Constitution designed to safeguard liberty, limit power, and ensure government remained accountable to the people. Through checks and balances, the rule of law, and the peaceful transfer of power, they sought to build a Republic capable of enduring for generations.Yet every generation faces its own challenges. In The Founders' Warning, author and political economist Werner Neff brings the architects of the American Republic into a compelling fictional dialogue spanning 1789, 2020, and 2040. Through thoughtful and often provocative conversations, the Founders confront the opportunities and dangers facing modern America while exploring what citizens can do to preserve the democratic experiment.Inside this timely and engaging work, readers will examine: - The growing impact of political polarization and declining public trust in institutions.- The importance of constitutional limits on power and the preservation of democratic norms.- The continuing debate over voting rights, representation, and the integrity of the electoral process.- The role of civic responsibility, ethical leadership, and informed citizenship in sustaining a free society.- The enduring relevance of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the principles that have guided the nation for more than two centuries.Part history, part civic dialogue, and part vision for the future, The Founders' Warning challenges readers to think beyond party politics and consider what it truly means to be a citizen of a constitutional republic. The future of American democracy will not be determined by politicians alone. It will be shaped by citizens who understand their rights, embrace their responsibilities, and remain committed to the principles of liberty, justice, and self-government.The conversation began in 1789. It continues today.Previously published as 'What Would the Founding Fathers Tell Us Today' - same content, retitled for clarity and impact. Seller Inventory # 9798887229119

Condition: Sehr gut. Zustand: Sehr gut | Seiten: 158 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | The book "WHAT WOULD THE FOUNDING FATHERS TELL US TODAY?" offers a reflection on American history, politics, democratic theories, and principles. Through fictional dialogues, it allows the Founding Fathers to express their views on what contributed to making America a model democracy, and what would ensure genuine freedom and prosperity for Americans today. The author asserts that democratic principles, as well as ethical and selfless leadership in service of the people, are essential pillars for achieving justice, equality, and prosperity for all.The United States was established in the late 1700s as the first republic founded on modern democratic principles. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights were foundational texts that governed the country, with a system of checks and balances that separated power among the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. The Founding Fathers drew inspiration from ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, which greatly influenced the shaping of the American political system. The American model of modern democracy became a benchmark for other countries to emulate, and its principles were adopted by nations around the world.Presently, we are facing challenges in upholding the democratic principles that our country was founded upon. We are witnessing a slow erosion of these principles, resulting in increasing inequality, poverty, and mistrust among our citizens. One of the ways in which our democracy is being distorted is through covert voting restrictions and gerrymandering, which are betraying the American people by denying them a fair and equal say in their government. These practices are a clear violation of the democratic principles that we hold dear and must be addressed in order to preserve the integrity of our democracy. Seller Inventory # 42090305/2
