The Author Who Profoundly Influenced St. Louis de Montfort
Hidden. Always hidden.
Hidden in a manger. Hidden in Nazareth. Hidden in the Eucharist. Hidden in all things.
In both His earthly and heavenly life, the Lord Jesus is a testament to humility — the singular virtue that opens us up to God’s light and heals our hardened hearts.
Drawing deeply from Scripture, the Fathers, and the saints, Fr. Henri-Marie Boudon, one of the towering spiritual writers in Church history, unveils a spirituality capable of transforming your prayer, your relationships, and your daily choices. He offers concrete, accessible ways to grow in devotion, both in your conversation with God and in your interactions with others.
As you contemplate how Christ’s hidden life reveals the virtues to embrace and the vices to cast aside, you will discover:
How Christ continues to be hidden — and ignored — in the Blessed Sacrament
Boudon shows that the hidden life is by no means reserved for cloistered monks and nuns. It is the call of every Christian, to be emulated in homes, workplaces, marriages, and friendships. When you choose littleness over acclaim, silence over self-promotion, and God’s glory over your own, you discover what the saints knew: Hiddenness is the birthplace of joy.
Let this timeless guide lead you into the Heart of the One who made Himself small for love of you — and learn how to find lasting peace, even in suffering, by choosing the beautiful, liberating path of humility.
