About the Author

The author has chosen to keep a low profile with his personal information due to the sensitive nature of the books subject matter and goes by the pen name of Trace Stanton. Trace has spent most of his career working in Aviation, Aerospace and in a variety of high-tech companies across the U.S. In addition to having an FAA Airframe & Powerplant license, he also has a B.S. in Engineering and an M.S. in Management.  He enjoys international travel and is an active motorcycle, classic car and aviation enthusiast.

Trace Stanton is an American working as a Helicopter Maintenance Instructor for an American helicopter company and is assigned to an Iranian Military Helicopter Base in Iran near the Iraq border. This is a true story of what he saw and experienced while living and working in Kermanshah, Iran during the Islamic Revolution in 1978-1979 which deposed the Shah of Iran and led to the capture of the American Embassy and 52 Americans that were held hostage for 444 days. While working with the Iranian soldiers, he had a "box seat" as the soldiers first fought the revolutionaries and then joined them. His eventual escape from Iran is a cautionary tale.
