Synopsis

I Did Good, Sir by Randall N. Ross, an Amazon #1 Best Seller in the Classic Coming-of-Age Fiction category.

"He waved goodbye to his mother. He heard the tires turning on the sandy pavement, the engine accelerating. He didn't look back. He leaned forward and pushed his way up the steep driveway, he wiggled his fingers and breathed deeply, his heart pounded. He checked his shirt, his pants, his shoes. Everything must be right. Everything must be perfect on his very first day."

Ever since he was ten years old, Jack dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. He couldn't remember when the dream first appeared or explain where it came from, it just appeared and became him. He worked every Saturday for the local veterinarian, Dr. Al Friedlander. He loved the farm calls the most.

In high school, he struggled to succeed. His parents sent him to Cheshire Academy where a civil war photograph of a teenage boy changed his life.

After graduating from veterinary school, he moved to Los Angeles where his life fell apart. Feeling lost and asking for help, he was directed by his spirit guide to leave his failed life in Los Angeles for a new beginning in Vermont where he embraced the divinity in nature and his connection to The One.

About the Author

Randall N. Ross grew up in Torrington, Connecticut, where early exposure to animals, work, and responsibility shaped his way of seeing the world. Trained as a veterinarian and practicing for more than three decades, he spent his professional life listening closely, to animals, to people, and to what often goes unsaid.
Alongside medicine, he has long pursued creative work, including songwriting, poetry, and performance. His writing reflects a deep respect for attention, restraint, and lived experience. I Did Good, Sir draws from these influences to tell a story about becoming, mentorship, and the subtle courage of following an inner call.
He continues to write stories that explore the space between duty and intuition, and the lifelong process of learning how to listen.
