Al Maginnes was born in Massachusetts and grew up in several states. He has degrees from East Carolina University and the University of Arkansas. He is the author of fourteen collections of poems, most recently Fellow Survivors: New and Selected Poems (Redhawk Publications, 2023), and his writing appears widely. After nearly forty years of teaching, he has retired and now lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he tries new things and ponders what comes next.
