Synopsis
HANNAH AND SAMUEL
The Prayer That Raised a Prophet
A woman weeps before the Lord. A child is promised. And through one mother's prayer, God prepares a prophet who will help change the course of Israel.
Hannah and Samuel: The Prayer That Raised a Prophet brings to life one of Scripture's most moving stories of faith, surrender, and God's faithfulness. Hannah carries a sorrow that those around her cannot fully understand. Year after year she longs for a child, until at last she pours out her heart before the Lord and makes a solemn vow: if God gives her a son, she will give that son back to Him.
God hears her prayer.
Samuel is born—not merely as the answer to a mother's longing, but as a child set apart for God's purpose. Hannah keeps her promise, bringing young Samuel to serve at the house of the Lord under Eli. There, in the stillness of the night, the boy hears a voice calling his name:
“Samuel, Samuel.”
From that moment, Samuel's life becomes intertwined with the destiny of Israel. He grows from the child Hannah prayed for into a prophet, judge, and spiritual leader during one of the nation's most important turning points. He witnesses the judgment upon Eli's house, calls Israel back to God, confronts the people's demand for a king, anoints Saul, grieves over Saul's disobedience, and eventually pours the anointing oil upon a shepherd boy named David.
Yet behind the prophet stands the prayer of a faithful mother.
Written as a biblical novel with reverence for the King James Scriptures, Hannah and Samuel: The Prayer That Raised a Prophet is a story of answered prayer, costly surrender, obedience, disappointment, and the sovereign hand of God working across generations.
It is a reminder that a prayer offered through tears may reach farther than the one who prayed it could ever imagine.
A mother's prayer. A surrendered son. A prophet raised for such a time as this.
