Synopsis

Climate Change Captives 2035 and Project Save is intended for ages 10 and up, with a Lexile reading level of 820L. What would life be like if you were 11 or 12 years old in 2035? If climate change had been a problem, how would people be living? Would schools be different? Would people be living as they do today? What transportation would be available? Think about how people may have adjusted to new hotter temperatures. This story tells what changes people may have had to make and how they adapted to a new normal with less travel. In this story, there is hope for the world, and students are working on other solutions. Although most transportation was stopped, most people went to live in centers while they tried to global warming under control. Will the students help save the earth?

About the Authors

Carolyn is the author and curriculum writer of the Wise Owl Factory blog. She provides mostly free resources for Pre-K through the elementary grade levels. She is a licensed teacher in Minnesota.She became a certified trainer for Climate Reality in 2019. She is now a volunteer presenter on this topic for schools.Bringing books to life was a constant theme in Carolyn's classroom, where students imaginatively and thoughtfully approached literature. Books in her classroom had distinguished lives as the stories and authors mentored and guided student and teacher work in reading, writing, performing, and illustrating writers' work.She has been actively involved in Phi Delta Kappa, for which she has served as newsletter editor and secretary. She has a BS in Elementary Education, an MS in Special Studies of Gifted Children, and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction K-12. She has taught grades one, two, three, four, and five, as well as gifted education.

Pieter Els has 30+ years of experience in facilitating courses to junior and senior facilitators, learning aids development, course material development, and marketing and web design. Pieter has an online resource company for education clip art, illustrations, tutorials and articles. His company goal is to offer the world of education more high-quality art and learning materials.
