Synopsis

From A to Z, this hilarious, girl empowering book with brilliant rhymes and silly illustrations features a misfit princess who explores different professions, operates heavy machinery and enjoys muddy puddles and sparkly dresses!

The Rogue Princess and her best friend bee (who is hiding on every page) go on different adventures together. Whether they put out fires, tame the dinosaurs or save injured animals from volcanic explosions, they always embrace the challenges and meet the most unusual friends in the process.

The stories and illustrations are designed so that each letter of the alphabet gets its own adventure and a rhyme and everything must start with that particular letter. For example for the letter F, there is a Flying Farting Fairy Friend Fighting Fires; and for letter J, there is a Judge on a Jet Juggling Jellyfish. The authors make this letter challenge deliberately so the kids can keep searching for different words on each page and learn new vocabulary in the process. Enjoy and watch out for letter P where Panda is doing (WHAT!) on the parachute?!

About the Authors

Alex Lamont is an award winning illustrator whose work has been displayed in Tokyo galleries and other parts of North Asia. Alex is currently living and working in the Boston suburbs, raising two daughters and 13 chickens, but who's counting? ABC Adventures of a Rogue Princess is her first children's book. The book was born because one of her daughters, who was a "proper" princess one day, challenged her that real princesses do not fart nor are they ever muddy. Well... my dear, challenge accepted!

David Polansky is a musician whose journey into the world of children's literature (and music) began when his three year old son suggested that he write an alligator song. He did. David then did the same for twenty five other animals, each whose name begins with a different letter of the alphabet. The result was the award winning Animal Alphabet Songs, a highly acclaimed collection that plunged David into the world of children's music where he continues to present concerts in schools, libraries, and other venues. His music has won numerous awards and is widely used in educational contexts worldwide. He and hiswife Elaine live in a suburb of Boston.
