People are disappearing. And Anita may be next.
Anita and Julian barely speak anymore after their adult son died in a fire two years ago, and she knows nothing about his new associates. But when Julian disappears after leading climate activists in a protest, she cuts her electronic ties and begins a perilous search for him, unaware of the crucial secret he has kept from her.
Anita has only a list of email addresses Julian gave her in case anything happened to him. One address leads to a dangerous adversary, and another to her long-ago lover, who may be the only person who can help her.
In piecing together the trail to her husband, Anita stumbles upon a clue: a hard drive containing priceless data sought by a corrupt billionaire with secrets of his own. And she’s about to discover how far he will go to protect his extraordinary wealth and power.
Set against a backdrop of climate activism, The Shutdown List is filled with twists and turns, corruption and betrayal. Anita must race against time to find her husband before he disappears forever.
