About the Author

Anne E. Beall, PhD is an award-winning author and social psychologist who writes about the emotional undercurrents that shape our lives. Her work explores the psychology of relationships—between lovers, family members, friends, and pets who believe they're in charge. She has been featured in People Magazine, the Chicago Tribune, Toronto Sun, NPR, NBC, and WGN. She is the founder and editor of Chicago Story Press Literary Journal, which publishes creative nonfiction. Anne earned her Ph.D. in psychology from Yale and lives in Chicago, where she tries to convince people that Midwest winters aren't really that bad.
