Synopsis

Ebony achieved independence from Galak over a century ago, but a loophole forces all its heirs to be trained for and to survive "The Rune", which is held there. Kaos, who was sired by Ebony's King to prevent his early death, understandably disappears when he's told he'll have to go also.
