Synopsis

Small Wins. Real Momentum. Less Drama.

A practical, no-pressure habits guide for men who want to be more consistent – without turning life into a self-improvement project.

If you’ve ever started a habit on Monday and watched it fade by Thursday, you’re not alone. Starting isn’t the problem. Keeping it going is.

And it’s not because you lack discipline or motivation. It’s because most habit advice doesn’t fit real life.

This book fixes that. Inside, you’ll learn how to:

  • Build habits that actually stick, even during busy weeks
  • Start small and stack wins that create real momentum
  • Bounce back quickly when life knocks you off track
  • Design routines that work in the real world – not just on January 1
  • Beat procrastination without relying on willpower
  • Protect your energy and focus so good habits last

Forget motivation marathons and dramatic resets. The Moderately Motivated Man’s Guide to Habits gives you a flexible, realistic framework that replaces willpower with smart design and perfection with progress.

No rigid systems. No extreme routines. No pressure to be perfect. Just practical tools you can use right away to build consistency in the areas that matter most: your health, your work, your relationships, and your everyday life.

Ten short chapters. Practical tools you’ll actually use. No pressure to become someone you’re not.

Start small. Keep going. Build what lasts.

About the Author

Rick Resnick is a former newspaper writer, magazine publisher, and media executive whose byline has appeared in sponsored features across Fortune, Time, Money, People, and Sports Illustrated. Over a long career in marketing, he led large teams and saw firsthand how easily good habits can fall apart when real life gets messy.

As an executive, a husband, and a father, Rick learned that slipping isn't the problem. What matters is giving yourself grace when you stumble, lowering the bar, and having a simple way to get back on track without guilt or drama.

His first book, The New Husband's Survival Guide, offered laugh-out-loud advice for men trying to coexist peacefully with women. Now, through The Moderately Motivated Man series, Rick writes practical, relatable self-help for guys who want to get better at life—without trying too hard. This habits guide is the second book in the series, following The Moderately Motivated Man's Guide to Time Management, with more books coming on money, fitness, and mental health.

When he's not writing, Rick plays tennis and golf, obsessively supports Arsenal FC, and sings lead in a rock cover band based in Pike County, Pennsylvania. He still slips up, but he's gotten pretty good at bouncing back.
