Tony Spooner has inherited the family trait of
twisting words—just like his long-ago cousin,
William Spooner. But for Tony, spoonerisms
aren’t an honor. They’re a nightmare.

About the Authors
Nancy Kelly Allen lives in Kentucky, where the accent is Appalachian and words are fun...and often funny. Playing with words is her typical day as she writes children's books. Other days, words sometimes play with her. Ordering "licken chivers" when attempting to say "chicken livers" boosted fun to a funny spoonerism. Nancy has a master's degree in education and another master's degree in library science. Enjoy beading this rook. Oops! Reading this book.
Debbie Roppolo is an award-winning Texas-born children's author and (sometimes) illustrator who grew up surrounded by books-and the occasional barnyard adventure. She once brought a horse into the living room, took a cat to church, and even hosted tea parties for chickens, which explains her love for creating humorous pictures and lively stories.
