Synopsis

On November 30, 2022, ChatGPT launched, the world changed, and most people missed it.

AI can write, reason, create, and reshape how we work — and everyone faces the same question: what now?

The answer came from an olive oil mill in Sicily, where Philip Fischer watched generations of farmers welcome automation while remaining the experts. Technology as tool, never master.

While the world split into fear, hype, and dismissal, You Are AI's Best Friend builds a fourth path: thriving anyway.

Drawing on Fischer's career spanning chemical engineering, law, and three decades on Wall Street — and on interviews his wife Linda conducted worldwide — this book offers real people, real answers, and no panic.

Let AI work for you, never the reverse. Tend what matters. The harvest follows.

You Are AI's Best Friend is perfect for readers of Co-Intelligence, The Coming Wave, and Life 3.0 — and for anyone who wants to live and work well in the age of AI.

Are you using it? Or is it using you?

At an olive oil mill in Sicily, Philip Fischer watched farmers who had inherited their groves through generations. They welcomed automation that served them, and they stayed the experts. Technology stayed the tool.

You Are AI's Best Friend explains AI clearly and argues that those who make AI their tool stay the experts. Let AI work for you. Never the reverse.

A JD with a PhD in finance, Fischer has worked across Wall Street, chemical engineering, law, and teaching. As a science fiction author, he published novels about AI in 2003 and 2009, long before ChatGPT. In You Are AI's Best Friend you'll meet people AI has already found: a Greek entrepreneur who wouldn't hang up on a stranger in crisis, an attorney whose AI interview felt "almost sentient," an engineer who talked philosophy at jury duty, a camp manager in Wadi Rum who prizes silence over connectivity.

Real people. Real answers. No panic.

Accept the chaos. Tend what matters. The harvest follows.

We all become farmers.
