Rip Calder is nobody special. He streams games to a handful of viewers, scrapes by in a neon-soaked city, and dreams of a better future with the woman he loves. Everything changes when masked soldiers abduct Lora, thrusting him into a deadly conflict that stretches far beyond the streets of Virelia.
Hunted by powerful forces and haunted by secrets buried beneath the city, Rip discovers he possesses a legendary artifact known as the Sound Key, an ancient power capable of reshaping reality itself. As the truth unfolds, he is drawn into a war between rebels, corporations, and forces older than history, all converging on a mysterious machine known as the Core.
At the center of the conflict lies a power capable of rewriting memories, altering consciousness, and deciding the fate of humanity. About the Author
Kevin B. Kyles is an author, creator, and worldbuilder whose work blends imagination, heart, and immersive storytelling. A lifelong gamer and lover of cinematic narratives, he grew up fascinated by the hidden worlds behind characters, technology, and myth. That fascination eventually evolved into writing, art, and game development. These disciplines now merge into a unique creative voice.Before publishing his first book, Kevin expressed creativity through painting, sketching, graphic design, and game design. He built characters and universes long before putting them to paper, shaping ideas visually and interactively until they demanded a larger canvas. Those skills now fuel his novels, giving his writing a vivid, cinematic quality that feels both fresh and deeply lived-in.Kevin's journey was not limited to the arts. He spent years in athletics and competition, from football in high school to earning a green and blue belt in Tae Kwon Do to training in professional wrestling. He also competed in tennis, winning first place in singles and second in doubles at the Senate level. These experiences taught him discipline, physical storytelling, and the resilience required to bring a creative vision from concept to reality.When he is not writing or designing worlds, Kevin is usually gaming or binge-watching narratives driven by culture, character, and legacy. Shows such as Spartacus, Vikings, and The Last Kingdom shaped his appreciation for narrative stakes and worlds where honor is tested and destinies bend.
