Of Dan’s Design is a genre-bending mix of hot-blooded horror, literary thought and dark humor.
An unfulfilling career and profound longing for inner peace has middle-aged insurance salesman Dan ready for change. Hallucinations and anxiety have Dan knock, knock, knocking on mental breakdown's door. A tumultuous relationship with boss Mark Sheffield leads to Dan's forced removal from Avarice Insurance LLC, and a renewed desire to fulfill his childhood dream of a lonely, selfless death.
Dan disappears into the wilds of North Shadyton, seeking freedom from the pressures of “civilized” society, finding the virus of humankind inescapable. His dreams are smashed by bad health, bad kids, bad cops, and a town not suited for fairy-tale endings.
A diverse, absolutely insane cast of characters weave through Dan's narrative—leaving chaos and a few bodies in their wake. Psychopaths, killers, the insignificant and misunderstood keep the path to Dan's dream critically thoughtful, colorful and hilariously wicked.

About the Author
Rex is a hardworking dad from the small town of Hondo, Texas. He earned an associate's degree at the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical college, then after three years at the University of Arkansas Little Rock, Rex found his ambitions better served outside the walls of academia. From a place of struggle, he values his past and represents those spawning from the same poor side of the tracks. A student of life and human nature, Rex is in constant struggle with external narrative. In the grand scheme of things, he knows nothing.
