As long-submerged foundations emerge from the mud, seventeen-year-old Emily Warren finds herself drawn to the stories that refuse to stay buried. Among them is the sixty-year-old disappearance of Clara Jennings, a beloved high school senior who vanished on graduation night in 1965. About the Author
Devienne is a Montana-born author whose writing is rooted in the landscapes, communities, and quiet connections that define life in the American West. Her debut novel, What the Lake Knows, is a character-driven atmospheric mystery that explores the weight of memory, the pull of the past, and the bonds that hold people together - even when the ground beneath them shifts.Raised in the wide-open spaces of Big Sky Country, Devienne draws her inspiration from the places she loves and the people who shaped her.
