‘If not you, then who?’
After a scandal shatters Riverstone Wrestling, Tyler—shaped by Coach Beau’s unrelenting lessons—is
called back to rebuild it. But leading this broken team means confronting the wreckage of his own past:
the weight of self-doubt, an estranged bond with his son Bryce, and the fallout of a hazing scandal that
nearly destroyed them all.
As old wounds resurface, both father and son must wrestle with pride, forgiveness, and the burden of
legacy.
Throwing Back the Rope—the act of helping others along the path you once struggled through—is a raw,
redemptive story about leadership, grit, and the quiet lessons passed down from generation to
generation: ‘you don’t wrestle alone’—on the mat or in life. ‘You better learn that, or it’ll break you.’

Peter S. Bergeron's family summered on Governor's Lake in Raymond, New Hampshire, going back to the 1950s. He wrestled in high school and found in the sport what most people only find when they are lucky: a room built on earned standards, coached by people who believed in the cost of pulling someone up. He has coached at multiple levels since then and has never fully left the mat.
The Mikey Beaudet series is autobiographical fiction. The lake is his. The moves are his. The losses and the drifts and the returns are all drawn from his own life and shaped into story so the next one on the same road has something to recognize.
Wrestling Against Time is the idea running through all of it: legacy, and helping the next one in line. Everything Peter writes under that name, fiction and nonfiction, comes from that single obligation.
His nonfiction book, The Trapped Operator, applies the same instinct to small business. Mikey's road continues. There is more ahead.
